Web2Energy Symposium |
UTInnovation will be participating in the European Smart Grid Initiative: Web2Energy Symposium to be held on 12-14 April 2011 in Darmstadt (Germany) About the Symposium SmartGrids – Approval in Practice The European Commission published in 1996 the “Vision and strategy for Europe’s electricity networks of the future - Technology platform SmartGrids” http://www.smartgrids.eu./.This vision caused various activities to deploy innovative ideas and to develop Smart-Grids solutions for the different areas of application. Smart Grids are seen as the pre-requisite for the efficiency and sustainability targets in the energy sector of the European Union. SmartGrids a revolutionary change in the area of Electricity supply. New communication technologies will be applied down to the distribution networks for linking the producers and consumers of electricity. A seamless information exchange beginning from the consumer socket up to the control centers of the electric networks is the foundation for the integration of a growing share renewable energy sources, for the further liberalization of the electricity market and for consumer’s participation in this market. Smart Distribution, Smart Aggregation, Smart Meter, Smart Home – these are often used new terms to describe the large variety of the new solutions Worldwide are pilot projects in execution – as well in Europe and Germany.
